Management Committee

James Batty

James is a founding trustee. He manages our financial reporting - including for our largest grant donor - and works in the shop several days a week.

James’ first career was as headmaster of a school in the Gambia, where he solicited government and corporate funds to build new classrooms and a library. Then he qualified as a public accountant, ending his working life as an international sales effectiveness consultant.

James is driven by his understanding of the life-changing value of education. One of his dearest friends is a Yezidi refugee who attributes his educational success to a teacher who gave him a head start by developing his basic literacy skills. Our organisation provides this opportunity to hundreds of young Yezidis who otherwise might be lost in the Iraqi school system.

Shelley Meister

Shelley is a founding trustee of One And All Aid. She oversees the daily running of both the shop and the organisation as a whole and coordinates aid collection and distribution.

After an American career in luxury fashion, Shelley moved with her family to Cornwall, England where her volunteering included financial responsibilities for several charities.

Shelley got involved with displaced people in 2015 as a volunteer in Lesvos, Greece and later made multiple working trips to Calais/Dunkirk. She is a founding member of the Cornwall Refugee Resource Network and works with several resettled families in Cornwall.

As a grandchild of immigrants she has always been aware that refuge and support can fundamentally change people’s lives.

Jomaa Jameel Murad

Jomaa Jameel Murad is a humanitarian and educational professional from Sinjar, Iraq, with experience in project management, financial oversight, and academia. Jomaa provides strategic oversight for the One And All Aid funded education projects run by the NABU and Yezidi Emergency Support teams, focusing on financial management and regulatory compliance, financial planning, reporting, and banking activities to support the educational initiatives and community development.

Jomaa was a founding member of the NABU Organization for Awareness in 2015, and continues to be a director, contributing to local community support and development projects. He also serves as a finance officer for Yezidi Emergency Support.

Jomaa has published peer-reviewed articles in the field of numerical analysis and actively participates in international forums addressing the needs of the Yezidi community. Alongside his humanitarian work, Jomaa has maintained a presence in academia as a lecturer in mathematics.

Martin Venning

As a volunteer for OAAA Martin helps in the shop and with other fundraising and aid collections activities.

Martin believes in community and helping other humans less fortunate than himself. He is director of the local community festival in Penzance and helps other local community organisations. From spending time in Northern France cooking and distributing food he has gained an understanding of what we can do collectively to help displaced people in their time of need. Martin encourages others to give time and energy to also support these worthwhile causes.

Sue Jacquemier

Sue’s background is in management in the publishing industry. When she retired and moved to Cornwall, she worked as a volunteer with Cornwall Air Ambulance, selling donations on eBay. Sue now sells for OAAA in the same way. From 2021 she has also worked a weekly shift in the OAAA shop. Sue loves gardening and enjoys propagating plants to sell in the shop.

Sue appreciates how OAAA’s education project gives a focus to fundraising and enables direct links to the children and staff of the schools. She enjoys being part of a small, dedicated team that has links to many other like-minded organisations.

Diana Hardy

Diana is a long-standing volunteer, not just with One And All Aid but with many other organisations. She is currently head of governors at a local primary school and has been the long-standing (over 20 years) District Commissioner for the local Pony Club. As her volunteering focuses on supporting children she is ideally placed to be our school liaison as well as a regular volunteer in our shop.

Diana lived for many years in Rome where she earned her medical degree, worked for WHO, and started her family. While in Rome she also helped set up a branch of Amnesty International and taught English to refugees.

Once back in Cornwall, where she is a freelance medical document translator, she has continued to teach English to non-native speakers and has expanded her skillset by volunteering at Refugee Community Kitchen in Calais, France.
